Yin Xia received a
Ph.D. in Agricultural and
Resource Economics at Oregon
State University in 2002 and joined the Department
of Agricultural Economics at the University
of Missouri-Columbia as an assistant professor the same year.
She participates in the Economics
and Management of Agrobiotechnology Center (EMAC) in the Department.
Her research focuses on the economics of R&D and innovation,
science and technology policy, R&D management and industrial
organization, and intellectual property rights, especially in agricultural
biotechnology. She also is interested in technological change and
productivity growth in agriculture and food manufacturing. Current
research topics include an econometric analysis of information flows
between basic bioscience and applied biotechnology, and a welfare
examination of universities patenting and licensing activities.
